Source registry

Where the data comes from—and where it stops.

Every enabled external source has a defined scope, authority and limitation. This public registry links to the publishers and explains what Fights Now does not claim.

How to read this registry

Official means the source is published by the promotion, sanctioning body or commission responsible for that information. Secondary means an independent publication or community-maintained source. Limited or monitored identifies a material coverage or availability constraint.

“Active” in the internal registry means collection is configured; it is not a promise that the publisher is currently reachable, has recently changed its page, or covers every event. Most sources become due once per rolling 24 hours. A manual administrator check may occur sooner.

Dates are not interchangeable. Fights Now retains a publisher's publication date when available. If none is supplied, the page should say when the source was observed rather than presenting that observation as the publisher's date.

Promotion and ranking publications

These sources publish their own cards, athlete identities or rankings. Official describes provenance; it does not mean that every useful field is present.

UFC rankings

Official

Used for: Champions, interim champions when explicitly labelled, and ranks 1–15 across the published UFC divisions and pound-for-pound lists.

Known limit: UFC publishes current state rather than a complete historical feed, so Fights Now history starts with the first locally observed snapshot.

ONE Championship

Official · limited

Used for: Official event identity, place, status, named card, bout discipline and explicitly published result fields. Rankings collection is configured separately.

Known limit: The current English rankings page publishes an unavailable notice and no tables. The collector fails safe rather than replacing older snapshots. Collection stores normalized facts and links, not ONE article text, images or video; activation reflects a documented project-owner risk decision, not a legal determination.

OKTAGON MMA

Official

Used for: Official tournament events, cards, fighter identities, results and male, female and pound-for-pound ranking publications.

Known limit: Its credential-free public JSON API is used by the official website but is undocumented and may change. Unknown provider codes and malformed rows fail closed.

OKTAGON ↗

KSW

Official

Used for: Official events, card fragments, fighter profiles and eight ranking divisions, including explicit vacancies and interim champions.

Known limit: Published event times lack a reliable timezone offset, so they are not stored as UTC fight instants. Observation time is used when the ranking page supplies no revision date.

KSW events ↗KSW rankings ↗

WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO

Official

Used for: Dated boxing rankings, explicit title holders and vacancies, and mandatory-challenger details only when the body publishes that designation.

Known limit: Current sources do not provide a complete historical ledger. The present implementation covers official men's publications; a missing date, challenger or title change is never guessed.

Matchroom Boxing

Official

Used for: Upcoming event dates, places, headliners, undercard pairings, published records and explicit title labels from official event pages.

Known limit: This is Matchroom promotion coverage, not every worldwide boxing card. Blank opponents are not fabricated, and no winner, start time or broadcast is inferred.

Matchroom events ↗

Most Valuable Promotions

Official

Used for: Upcoming event identity, timezone-qualified starts, places, ordered named bouts and explicit title or division labels.

Known limit: TBA and TBC opponents are skipped. Published source defects are not copied blindly; an unexplained card block causes that page to fail validation.

MVP events ↗

Athletic commissions

Commission publications are strongest for the official results they regulate, but their public schedules and documents vary in depth and format.

Texas Combative Sports

Official

Used for: The state event list and linked result documents for boxing, MMA, kickboxing, Muay Thai, bare knuckle and amateur variants.

Known limit: Image-only scans and unusual team-boxing tables may not expose every contestant or winner. Individual public licence search is not automated.

Texas event list ↗

California State Athletic Commission

Official

Used for: Official event-number schedules plus result documents containing contestants, weights, outcome details, officials and scorecards when published.

Known limit: The schedule itself contains no named matchups or results. Historical result layouts vary and some documents are scans; unreadable documents fail independently.

CSAC schedule ↗CSAC results ↗

Nevada Athletic Commission

Monitored

Used for: Implemented result-document intake for boxing, MMA, kickboxing and Muay Thai.

Known limit: During local validation, the official archive and PDF endpoints returned successful but empty bodies. The source is monitored and fails closed; live ingestion was not claimed as validated.

Nevada results archive ↗

New York State Athletic Commission

Official schedule

Used for: Published boxing and MMA event dates, promoters, venues and addresses from the commission listing.

Known limit: Public event pages may not provide full cards or official outcomes, so schedule rows do not create placeholder bouts.

Secondary and cross-check sources

Secondary sources can help discover or cross-check a fact. Their values remain labelled and do not outrank an accepted official promotion or commission fact.

Combat Registry PFL media rankings

Secondary · limited

Used for: Five published PFL champions and the men's Media P4P positions 1–5. Combat Registry describes itself as PFL's official media rankings partner.

Known limit: This is not presented as a complete PFL-owned divisional publication. It includes no women's list or numbered divisional contenders, and supplies no publication date.

Combat Registry fighters ↗

ESPN UFC scoreboard

Secondary

Used for: Event and competition identities, published participants, records and explicit coarse result fields across a bounded date window.

Known limit: The public endpoint is undocumented. Methods, weight classes and upcoming title status can be missing; ESPN outcomes remain provisional until an authorized official source verifies them.

ESPN UFC data endpoint ↗

ESPN PFL scoreboard

Secondary

Used for: Published PFL participants, records, bout divisions and explicit outcome fields from one bounded scoreboard request.

Known limit: The endpoint publishes no rankings or champion state and may omit a completed bout's method. Fights Now therefore labels participants as card-listed, not ranked.

ESPN PFL data endpoint ↗

Wikipedia GLORY publications

Secondary

Used for: Five community-maintained ranking divisions plus year-page discovery for GLORY events, cards and published result details.

Known limit: Rankings currently contain only two to four contenders per division, not a top 15. Event facts start pending verification, and tournament stages are retained without modelling a separate bracket graph.

Access and change safeguards

  • Collectors use bounded public requests with an identifying user agent and source-specific backoff where documented.
  • Fights Now does not use logins, proxy rotation, anti-bot bypasses or technical circumvention to obtain these publications.
  • Robots rules, access conditions and source lifecycle are reviewed before a new collector is enabled. A source that cannot be collected safely fails closed.
  • Source URLs, retrieval metadata and stable external identities are retained so facts can be traced and repeated responses do not create duplicate events or bouts.
